Afterflight

A browser-based system for analysis and annotation of video and sensor data from drones which I wrote using Django and javascript in 2013.

I also wrote a blog post about it on diydrones.com.

It was fairly successful -- about 30 people I didn't know signed up and uploaded their data. I was hoping to collaborate with 3DR since I figured they eventually would want to create something like this to support their customers. A year or so after Afterflight was up and running, 3DR (well, Kevin Hester, with their support) did decide to create something similar. I invited him to collaborate on mine, and asked me to collaborate on his, so it went nowhere. They built droneshare.com and now there are many similar sites out there.

I was also contacted by the Naval Postgraduate School, who were interested in Afterflight if I could extend it to work with multiple drones simultaneously. I didn't have the time to do that, unfortunately.

Afterflight had several key features which I've not seen on the modern, operational drone log sites, so I'd like to find the time to resurrect it someday, possibly as a Meteor app.
